Final Standings

Well, the tournament is finally over.  Louisville and Michigan had a run and gun championship game last night in which Louisville came out on top... and our champion still remains Robbie.

Congratulations to Teresa for coming in second, Heather in third, and Beth has come in fourth in what has been her best performance since 2008 when she came in third (out of three :-p).  Joe also picked Louisville to win it all and finished in fifth place.

Brad's going to win it all next year.

Robert Repeats... Worst Challenge Ever?

Well... Robert has repeated as the Young Family Bracket Challenge winner after Florida was embarrassed by Michigan and officially eliminated everybody else from contention.

I think it's safe to say that this has been the worst bracket challenge ever. (Editor's  note: Worst Challenge Ever is in response to the brackets, not to the fact that Robbie won the challenge!  Just to clear that up...)

Never before has it been decided before the Final Four weekend, but this year, because the bracket was horrible and the games were ridiculous, the Challenge has ended sooner than it should have.

This is the first time in the Challenge history that a record has not been broken... Heck, nothing even came close!

Let's not take away from the fact that Robbie picked the most Final Four teams correctly and did win the challenge... but let's put it into perspective... he won just by simply having TWO teams in the Final Four.  That's child's play for us... normally we have people who have three, or a group of us with at least two...

This year's Final Four consists of a #1 seed, two #4 seeds (ranked around 12-16th in the country), and a #9 seed (ranked around 32-36th in the country).

That's absurd.  I blame the NCAA.  They sucked at making the brackets.  I'm pretty sure our family blog should now be in charge of that.

Here are the standings heading into the Final Four weekend... these are NOT the final standings because there are still a few games, but Robbie has officially clinched the title.

So, even though the Challenge is over, there are still a few games left to decide the National Champion.... who are you going to cheer for?

In "pre"-closing (final standings will be posted after the Championship game) a big congrats to Gary (Dad) for putting up a good fight!  And huge props to Beth and Melissa for being part of the Final Four for us this year... I know Beth was so excited about the possibility of winning that she nearly cried!

And yet, Robbie took that joy away from her...

Ouch, bro... ouch.
